Funky comments sections
WordPress seems to have run into some problems with closing comments. Should be (temporarly?) resolved. Too much php and MySQL knowledge required for comfort.
In the meantime, keep reading my special “Orchestras and New Media” series. If you have any suggestions or feedback, leave a comment. If that doesn’t work, e-mail me at dutchperspective (at) mcmvanbree.com

Coming soon
After nearly 5 months of inactivity, this blog will return. Stay tuned for a large project with a series of posts.
Tag clouds and visitor numbers
Visitor numbers for my Web site keep growing. Last March was the first time my Web site saw over 1,000 unique visitors. This October, just over half a year later, I broke the 2,000 figure. The total amount of unique visitors for March 2007 was 2,228. Total visits amassed to 7,324; total pages to 15,558; [...]
Introducing Dutch Roots (beta)
As mentioned repeatedly, I have been working on a different Web project. Ever since that PBS show with Henry Louis Gates, Jr. I have traced down my own family roots and local history. The original plan was to make a regular Web site out of the data. Recently, I stopped working on that idea, as, [...]
New sidebar items and updates
I have added two new sidebar features in an effort to create a better blog. The first one is the del.icio.us bookmarks item. Instead of creating a new blog post for bookmarked items, I decided to simply list them in the sidebar. I think this way I will use del.icio.us more often and more effectively, [...]
More than 1,000 unique visitors and going strong
This month is the first month my Web site has seen over 1,000 unique visitors. For a couple of months it came excruciatingly close, hitting 982 in December 2006 and 992 in January 2007. And although March is not over yet—we still have three more days—there have been nearly 1,300 unique visitors already.
I started with [...]
Introducing Del.icio.us
As you can see in the previous post, I have introduced del.icio.us to my blog. I had previously added the “add to del.icio.us” function, but now I am returning the favor to the service.
I think it offers a great way of providing stories and news without having to comment or write about it myself. The [...]
Repositioning the blog: clearer boundaries
This blog is a broad as the Atlantic Ocean; I cover too many topics and can’t stick to one theme or category. But I have decided to go with it, at least to some degree. I can’t write about just public relations, or just arts management, or just immigration; I’d get bored. Besides, isn’t everything [...]
More updates and more visitors
Visits to my Web site and this blog have really picked up over the last month. I suspect this is due to some features I have added. Most visible of the features is the FeedBurner feed and all its accessories: easy buttons to add my feed to your Google, MSN and Yahoo! pages among others, [...]
New design for main Web site
Finally I have uploaded my new Web site design. Already I am not completely satisfied. I like the design much better than the previous; however, I’d like to see some more variation with the images. This, of course, is quite easily done and does not need a major overhaul. A couple more tweaks are needed [...]
