Slightly new and greatly improved

Although not entirely complete, I’m going to start to use this new format you are seeing now for Dutch Perspective. It is part of the reason why I haven’t posted anything in more than a week. Instead of a content management program, which might offer more options but is also harder to navigate, I wanted the blog to look more like a blog. I think this new format is more accessible and more readable than the old version. The few unavoidable tweaks will take place over the coming week(s).

I am still transferring content and some of the longer “feature” stories will probably be moved to or incorporated in the main Web site. I know it’s not a good thing, search engine wise, to change the location of the posts and the blog itself (different urls and permalinks), but I figured the blog was still in the starting phase, so it wouldn’t have too much impact and only take a short while before the googles and yahoos pick it up.

As soon as I find out a labor-unintensive way of adding images, I will start working more with images as well, to make the blog more visually appealing. Just an image here and there does wonders.

I am also updating the main Web site, www.mcmvanbree.com, which will take shape in the coming weeks. Keep visiting.

Also, visit Drew McManus’ Adaptistration to read about Led Zeppelin and the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, written by the CSO VP of Sales and Marketing Kevin Giglinto. A refreshing and interesting look at getting interested in classical music, a look I can definitely identify with.
